to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Let us pray,
O God,
the protector of all who trust in you,
without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy,
increase and multiply upon us your mercy,
that with you as our ruler and guide,
we may so pass through things temporal,
that we lose not the things eternal;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

After this Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, also called the Sea of Tiberias. A large crowd kept following him, because they saw the signs that he was doing for the sick. Jesus went up the mountain and sat down there with his disciples. Now the Passover, the festival of the Jews, was near. When he looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread for these people to eat?" He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he was going to do. Philip answered him, "Six months' wages would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little." One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But what are they among so many people?" Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." Now there was a great deal of grass in the place; so they sat down, about five thousand in all. Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated; so also the fish, as much as they wanted. When they were satisfied, he told his disciples, "Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost." So they gathered them up, and from the fragments of the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten, they filled twelve baskets. When the people saw the sign that he had done, they began to say, "This is indeed the prophet who is to come into the world." When Jesus realized that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, he withdrew again to the mountain by himself. When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were terrified. But he said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid." Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land toward which they were going.

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Gathered, at this time, as a people hungry for peace and for a connection with our Creator, we pray to you for all those in need, saying: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
For the Church: that together we may create a world of compassion, and that we will be open to your love and be filled with gratitude for all the ways you provide for us.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For this parish: that in these warm days of summer we will find times of recreation and re-creation. We give thanks for those who continue to work on the front lines of this pandemic, both in the service industry and in health care, that they too will be fed in body and soul. We give thanks and pray for Emily and Alicia who were joined together in a Celebration of Marriage yesterday at St. Paul’s.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For our nation: that together we will see the value of every human being, that each one will have food, shelter, clothing and clean water: that everyone will have an opportunity for education and employment and access to healthcare and security. We are thankful for visitors to our Island home this summer and pray that their stay is safe and fun, for them and for us.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For the world: that in all places of violence and injustice there will be peace and mercy. We pray for the Olympic Games and that everyone will be safe in this extraordinary time of a pandemic.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For all those facing tragedy: fire, tornados, floods, drought, that they will find safety. In fact, we pray for good weather and abundant harvests of land and sea for all to share, and that you will teach us to use your creation for your greater praise.
For all those in need of prayers, for those who are ill at home or in the hospital, remembering especially,

… that they may be made strong with the power of Christ.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who have died, remembering especially,
that they may dwell in Christ for all eternity. Give hope and comfort to those who grieve.
Lord, hear our prayer.
God of glory, hear the prayers we offer this day, fill us with the love of Christ and move us by compassion, that we will be always ready to offer the bread of our lives and share it generously with others, that every hunger of body and spirit may be satisfied. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
Dear friends in Christ,
God is steadfast in love and infinite in mercy;
welcoming sinners and invites us to this table.
Let us confess our sins, confident in God’s forgiveness.
we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.
pardon and deliver you from all your sins,
confirm and strengthen you in all goodness,
and keep you in eternal life;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer over the Gifts
Let us pray,
God of grace,
accept all we offer you this day,
as we look toward the glory you have promised.
This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
Holy, holy, holy Lord,
God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
As our Saviour taught us, let us pray,
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

whoever believes in me will never thirst.”
Taste and see that the Lord is good;
happy are they who trust in him!

Prayer after Communion
Let us pray,
God of grace,
we have received the memorial
of the death and resurrection of your Son.
May your love, poured into us,
bring us to your promises.
We ask this in the name of our Redeemer Jesus Christ. Amen.

whose power, working in us,
can do infinitely more
than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation,
in the Church and in Christ Jesus,
for ever and ever. Amen.
The peace of God which passes all understanding
keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God,
