Collect
Let
us pray,
Lord
of life and power, through the mighty resurrection of your Son, you have
overcome the old order of sin and death and have made all things new in him.
May we, being dead to sin and alive to you in Jesus Christ, reign with him in
glory, who with you and the Holy Spirit is alive, one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
The
Proclamation of the Word
A
Reading from the Book of Acts
Then
Peter began to speak to the Gentiles: "I truly understand that God shows
no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right
is acceptable to him. You know the message he sent to the people of Israel,
preaching peace by Jesus Christ - he is Lord of all. That message spread
throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John announced:
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he
went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God
was with him. We are witnesses to all that he did both in Judea and in
Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree; but God raised him
on the third day and allowed him to appear, not to all the people but to us who
were chosen by God as witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose
from the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he
is the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead. All the
prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives
forgiveness of sins through his name." 10:34-43
The
word of the Lord
Thanks be to God
Psalm
118:1-2, 14-24
Refrain: On this day the
Lord has acted; we will rejoice and be glad.
Give
thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his mercy endures for ever. Let Israel now
proclaim, "His mercy endures for ever." R The Lord is my
strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. There is a sound of
exultation and victory in the tents of the righteous: "The right hand of
the Lord has triumphed! the right hand of the Lord is exalted! the right hand
of the Lord has triumphed!" R I shall not die, but live, and
declare the works of the Lord. The Lord has punished me sorely, but he did not
hand me over to death. R Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will
enter them; I will offer thanks to the Lord. "This is the gate of the
Lord; he who is righteous may enter." R I will give thanks to you,
for you answered me and have become my salvation. The same stone which the
builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. R This is the Lord's
doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes. On this day the Lord has acted; we
will rejoice and be glad in it. R

Christ is Risen, Alleluia!
The
Holy Gospel
The
Lord be with you.
And also with you.
The
Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Mark
Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
When
the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome
bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the
first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. They had
been saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the
entrance to the tomb?" When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which
was very large, had already been rolled back. As they entered the tomb, they
saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they
were alarmed. But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed; you are looking for
Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look,
there is the place they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he
is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told
you." So they went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement
had seized them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. 16:1-8

Prayer
over the Gifts

the joy of the resurrection, through Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen.
The
Celebration of the Eucharist
Eucharistic
Prayer B
(Common Worship - UK)
The
Lord is here.
His Spirit is with us.
Lift
up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let
us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give thanks and praise.
Father,
we give you thanks and praise through your beloved Son Jesus Christ, your
living Word, through whom you have created all things; who was sent by you in
your great goodness to be our Saviour.
By
the power of the Holy Spirit he took flesh; as your Son, born of the blessed
Virgin, he lived on earth and went about among us; he opened wide his arms for
us on the cross; he put an end to death by dying for us; and revealed the
resurrection by rising to new life; so he fulfilled your will and won for you a
holy people.
Therefore
with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we proclaim
your great and glorious name, for ever praising you and saying:
Holy,
holy, holy Lord,
God
of power and might,
heaven
and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna
in the highest.
Blessed
is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna
in the highest.
Lord,
you are holy indeed, the source of all holiness; grant that by the power of
your Holy Spirit, and according to your holy will, these gifts of bread and
wine may be to us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ;
who,
in the same night that he was betrayed, took bread and gave you thanks; he
broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take, eat; this is my body which
is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.
In
the same way, after supper he took the cup and gave you thanks; he gave it to
them, saying: Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant,
which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as
often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.
Jesus
Christ is Lord:
Lord,
by your cross and resurrection
you
have set us free.
You
are the Saviour of the world.
And
so, Father, calling to mind his death on the cross, his perfect sacrifice made
once for the sins of the whole world; rejoicing in his mighty resurrection and
glorious ascension, and looking for his coming in glory, we celebrate this
memorial of our redemption. As we offer you this our sacrifice of praise and
thanksgiving, we bring before you this bread and this cup and we thank you for
counting us worthy to stand in your presence and serve you.
Send
the Holy Spirit on your people and gather into one in your kingdom all who
share this one bread and one cup, so that we, in the company of all the saints,
may praise and glorify you for ever, through Jesus Christ our Lord;
by
whom, and with whom, and in whom, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour
and glory be yours, almighty Father, for ever and ever. Amen.
The
Lord’s Prayer
As
our Saviour taught us, let us pray,
Our
Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we
forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver
us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for
ever. Amen.
